Greetings,

I was born and raised in Granville, NY.  This is a small rural town on the border of Vermont.  Growing up with snowy winters allowed me to be in ski school and learn how to snow board, which are some of my favorite activities.  I always enjoyed the snow, but I did not always enjoy the cold that came with it!

After graduating from high school, I attended Northeastern University in Boston.  I later transferred to  SUNY Plattsburgh, where I graduated with a degree in Food and Nutrition and minor in Chemistry.

I moved to San Diego in 1996 and worked in the field of Nutrition.  I later went to SDSU and obtained my credential to teach Mathematics.  Teaching mathematics gave me an appreciation for incorporating technology into the curriculum because I noticed that many students lack the understanding that is needed for basic Algebra.  I started to have my students develop a series of  podcasts about Algebra concepts that would allow them to develop their skills while allowing the entire world to also learn the basics on itunes.  I later began to teach teachers at Teacher Tech-UCSD on how to incorporate these skills into their curriculum.

I recently received my Masters in Education/Administration and am thrilled to be able to work with both teachers and students at Innovation Middle School!

I believe that students need 21st century learning opportunities and it is with great pleasure that I have the opportunity to be a member of the learning community at iMiddle!
